In the years 30, the SNCF has developed a range of shunting engines to replace the steam engines of the series 030-040. They were used as shunting engines and to tow single wagons. Because they have a serial number beginning with Y, they had a nickname “Yoyo”. This engine has replaced manual and animal traction used to move the wagons. They were build by Brissoneau, BDR, La Lilloise, Moyse, in Dietrich and also by Decauville. In the beginning they had a Renauld engine, which was later replaced by a Poyaud engine. Property of CFV3V. The Y 6502 is used in Mariembourg, the Y 6563 is in the museum of Treignes.
